Day 6 in Israel: Blessed Are We

Updated: May 18, 2020

Evening came and morning followed - the sixth day (Genesis 1:31).

On my sixth day, we transitioned from the Dead Sea to the Sea of Galilee where many Scriptural stories take place.  I stepped in the Sea in two different places wishing my feet could soak up its water and take it home with me.

I will spare you the pictures of me taking selfies of my feet (only my daughter saw those), and share with you instead a picture of the Sea from the place that commemorates the Sermon on the Mount.

Blessed are those that mourn for they will be comforted (Matthew 5:4) and blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called the children of God (Matthew 5:9).

Toured Today

Took a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee.

Visited Magdala, a relatively newly discovery with a synagogue that others believed Jesus preached.

Drove through the area of Tabgha where it is proposed Jesus multiplied the loaves and fishes.

Put my feet in the waters next to the place where Jesus forgave Peter for denying him three times.

Walked the ancient ruins of Bet She'an where Jesus Christ Super Star was filmed. The picture below is a left over movie prop and not the real deal!
